LPD Charity Basketball Game Brings Community Together for a Night of Fun and Giving at Sandusky Middle School

LYNCHBURG, VA  – The Lynchburg Police Department hit the court instead of the streets on March 6 for the LPD Charity Basketball Games at Sandusky Middle School, bringing the community together for a night of friendly competition and fundraising.

The event featured officers and students facing off in an action-packed basketball showdown—all in the name of charity. Proceeds from the game will benefit the Sandusky Middle School Athletics Department.

“This is what community is all about—coming together, having fun, and making a difference,” said Vincent Lafolgio, one of the event coordinators. “It’s more than just a game; it’s about building relationships and giving back.”

The night was filled with excitement, from slam dunks and buzzer-beaters to halftime activities and raffles. Kids even got a chance to shoot hoops with the officers, reinforcing positive connections between law enforcement and local youth.
